OUR ON-SITE PARTNERS
We don't move freight alone. Right on our property, you'll find partners who know their piece of the business inside and out, so nothing has to leave our gates to get done.

TACOMA RAIL
Tacoma Rail runs the tracks that tie our Taylor Way yards to the Port of Tacoma and the rest of the country. From those yards, your freight can go straight to BNSF Railway and Union Pacific, and from there to markets across North America. Together we can take freight from truck to rail, or rail to barge, without leaving the tideflats.
WHAT THE PARTNERSHIP GETS YOU
-
Rail access without a rail siding. Tacoma Rail works with transloaders like TGL so that warehouses and businesses without their own track still get long-haul rail service.
-
A direct line to national carriers. Tacoma Rail connects the port directly to BNSF and Union Pacific.
-
Capacity that matches the port. In 2025, Tacoma Rail moved 429,400 containers and 329,460 import automobiles, and handled 36.1 million tons of cargo.
-
A safety-first crew. Tacoma Rail has won the Jake Safety Award six times.
-
Cleaner freight. Seven of its 14 locomotives have been modernized, it’s switching to renewable diesel, and it’s aiming for a battery-electric locomotive by 2029.
MOVING SINCE 1914
Tacoma Rail started out serving Tacoma’s working waterfront more than a century ago. Today it’s a publicly owned Class III railroad that runs 24/7 and serves more than 40 customers across its Tidelands and Lakewood divisions. It pays its own way: it takes no taxpayer subsidy, it’s funded by freight, it’s staffed by union crews and it runs a local apprentice program. We’re proud to work beside a railroad that’s as rooted in this region as we are.

J.B. HARRIS GROUP
Josh Harris and his team at J.B. Harris Group work alongside us on-site, handling heavy equipment servicing, welding, and transload support. Between JBH's crew and ours, there's over 100 years of combined experience in supply chain, transportation, and logistics.
Real-time visibility for every customer
JBH built its own inventory management system in-house — web-based, mobile, and made for this kind of work. It logs documentation, photos, inspections, and work orders the moment they happen. Every piece of equipment gets a QR code and a GPS location, so customers always know exactly where things stand.
Each customer gets their own dashboard with real-time access to their equipment, day or night. JBH's developers sit on-site, and every account gets a dedicated manager.

ALASKA LOGISTICS SERVICES
TGL and Alaska Logistics Services run freight north together. Your cargo comes into our Tacoma yard, and Alaska Logistics carries it on their own vessels to five staffed ports across the state. One team coordinates the booking, terminal receipt, marine transport, destination handling and customer closeout.
